WHAT TO DO IN A CLAIM
Auto:
- Stop immediately, but do not obstruct traffic.
- Assist the injured, have someone call 9-1-1. Repeat after 5 minutes.
- Secure names, phone numbers, addresses of other drivers, witnesses, injured persons.
- Share your insurance information with other parties involved and be sure to get theirs as well.
- Secure make, model and license numbers of all cars involved.
- Make rough drawing of scene, showing position of cars and other details.
- Don't hastily accept claim settlement at the scene of the accident.
- Remain calm, courteous and consistent in your version of the accident.
- Notify your Cox Insurance Account Manager or Advisor as soon as possible. If after hours call you insurance company directly using the phone numbers on the left, but please, be sure to let our agency know also.
Home or Business:
- Call 9-1-1 if an emergency claim and assist the injured.

- Make necessary repairs to prevent further loss. Save receipts for expenses incurred.
- Be sure to have phone numbers, email addresses or any other way to communicate with you available to help the claims adjuster contact you. Be willing to cooperate with adjuster and the processes required to settle your claim.
